A bankroll is a decision, not an amount
A bankroll is the sum you have decided in advance to lose. That is the whole definition, and the word “decided” carries all of it: the figure is set before a lobby opens, it is money that is already spent as far as the rest of your month is concerned, and it does not grow because the evening went well. What sits in the account balance is not the bankroll — a balance moves, a bankroll is fixed until you sit down again with the same deliberate calculation.
Sizing the unit
Once the total exists, the only remaining question is how to cut it up. Divide the bankroll into single stakes and the arithmetic does the rest: a bankroll of 200 AZN staked at 2 AZN a round gives you 100 rounds before returns are counted, and a stake of 20 AZN gives you 10. Between one and two per cent of the total per round is the range most players find survivable, and it is a rule about arithmetic rather than luck. The higher the volatility of the game, the smaller that unit needs to be, because a very high volatility slot spends long stretches returning nothing at all.
Stop rules, written before the first round
Two numbers make a session finishable. The first is the loss limit, which is simply the bankroll itself: when it is gone, the session is over and no deposit follows it. The second is the clock — a fixed length, set in advance, because tiredness costs more than any single bad stake. A win-stop belongs on the same note: if the balance doubles, withdraw and close the tab. None of these rules works if you set them after the balance starts moving, which is why they are written down first.
What this cannot do
Bankroll management does not improve your chances. The house edge is fixed in the paytable of every title, so no way of splitting money changes the expected outcome of the underlying game — it changes only how long the money lasts and how much it can hurt. The honest claim is modest: this is a method for controlling damage and session length, not a method for winning. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over and it can become an addiction.
