The multiplier is the offer
A bonus is not the number in the banner; it is the number after the multiplication sign in the terms. Take a round illustration rather than any operator’s actual promotion: a bonus of 500 AZN carrying a wagering requirement of x40 means 500 × 40 = 20 000 AZN must be staked in qualifying games before anything can be withdrawn. At a typical slot house edge of 3.5%, pushing 20 000 AZN through the games costs roughly 700 AZN in expected losses — more than the bonus was worth. The requirement is not a formality attached to a gift. It is the price of the gift, and it is usually higher than the gift.
Max bet, and how a clause voids everything
Most bonus terms cap the stake allowed while a wagering requirement is open. Exceed that cap once, even by accident on a single spin, and many operators void the bonus and everything won with it — not a penalty on the round, the whole balance. This is the clause that catches careful players, because the obvious way to clear a large turnover quickly is to raise the stake, which is exactly what the clause forbids. Find the maximum bet figure before you accept anything, and note whether a buy-feature purchase counts as one bet or as several.
Game weighting
Not every AZN staked counts fully towards the requirement. Weighting is published per game category: slots normally contribute at full rate, while table games, live dealer tables and low-edge instant titles contribute a fraction or are excluded outright. A requirement that looks manageable on slots can become impossible if you intended to clear it at a roulette table, and a lobby that weights live games at nothing has quietly made the offer slots-only. The percentages differ per operator, so read the operator’s own table rather than a generic figure — ours included.
The limitation
None of this tells you whether an offer is good. Terms change without notice, the same brand can run different conditions in different months, and the only authoritative version is the one on the operator’s page on the day you deposit. What the arithmetic does give you is a way to price any offer in one line: multiply, then ask whether you would have staked that much anyway. If not, decline it. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over and it can become an addiction.
Free spins are a promotion rather than a practice mode — the difference is set out on our demo mode page, and the rest of the series is on the blog index.
